Heavy Lies the Crown
The Irish Elk’s oversized antlers became a liability that contributed to its extinction. Drawing a parallel, this essay argues that human consciousness, though powerful, may be an evolutionary misstep. Our collective lack of unity, endless pursuit of progress, and loss of meaning create instability at both societal and individual levels. While a pessimistic view suggests inevitable collapse, a hopeful path emerges through accepting uncertainty and striving for harmony rather than control.
